TRAINING
We try and run a wide and varied programme of training across the school year. Courses are mainly aimed at schools supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties, Down Syndrome or Physical Disabilities; in line with the support that we offer as part of our Outreach Service. We try and respond to demand for certain courses, so please let us know if we aren't running something that would be useful. Please use the online registration (below), courses are usually confirmed 2 weeks prior to the date of the training.
We can also now offer wider training as part of our traded service.
All these courses will have a cost attached.

Next Steps Framework Materials
The Next Steps Framework is for mainstream schools to use for pupils working below Age Related Expectations (ARE).
These materials have been developed in liaison with Education Standards and Achievement team and can also be found on BEEM.

Reading and Language Intervention for children with Down Syndrome
This is an excellent reading and language intervention designed specifically for the learning style of a child with Down Syndrome. It provides a daily programme of activities split into two parts - reading and speaking.
We are no longer running this training.
We would recommend accessing this via the online materials for £100. This gives you access to the materials for a year and the handbook costs £99 and should be purchased separately.
There is a joint online course and handbook in the pipeline for £150. It is mentioned on the website.
