Improving Outcomes for Disadvantaged Children in Brighton & Hove

Shelley Baker is running a cross-phase seminar to support our 'Improving Outcomes for Disadvantaged Children' strategy in the city. The seminar will provide an opportunity to share best practice with primary and secondary Pupil Premium leads and identify strategies for schools to adopt in addressing the gaps.

The seminar will take place on Wednesday 19th June 2019, 1.30-4.30pm at Longhill High School.

OPAL Brighton & Hove and South Region Open Day

Headteacher Mr Damien Jordan from Fairlight Primary & Nursery School in Brighton and OPAL Outdoor Play and Learning would like to invite senior leaders and playtime staff from your school to a free training and networking event.

 Thursday, 27th June  at 10am - 2 pm at Fairlight Primary School Brighton BN23AJ

The event is for two kinds of schools:

1. New schools not yet enrolled in the international award winning OPAL Primary Programme, so they can find out how half a million children in the UK schools have benefited from hugely improved play times. (For Heads and SLT)

Attend from: 10am till 1pm Hear about the programme and impact from SLT , playtime staff, and children and observe an OPAL Platinum school playtime.

2. Schools currently in the OPAL Primary Programme who will have an opportunity to network, share ideas and practice. 

 A light lunch will be available.

The finalised agenda will be sent out in the coming weeks.

Systems Leaders

We are delighted to have appointed 6 more Specialist Leaders of Education extending our team to 11 practitioners.  We also have appointed 7 Local Leaders of Education.  All systems leaders will come together for further training in May 2019.
