Sussex Coast Schools Alliance

We aim to become a research led alliance.  We have strong links with both our local universities, Sussex & Brighton.  We also work with University College London (UCL) in delivering national leadership programmes and in due course we willl be developing Specialist Leaders in Education. 

We will work to develop evidence-informed schools to ensure teaching practice is based on robust research evidence.  We work closely with Durrington Research School and aim to support our schools to become focused on what works best to effectively grow learning.

We plan to provide support and time for teachers to carryout their own research, improve their practice and share this with others.  We will do this by training teachers in research methods and supporting qualifications.

A number of Alliance schools have taken part in a research project with the Education Endowment Foundation on self-review, peer reviews and school to school support.
